Frequently asked questions
How close to the coast and beaches are you ?
One hour. Its an easy drive along good roads which arn't busy even in peak season, however if you adore the beach, want to go every day then we are too far. If however you are happy going to the coast just a few times during your stay, say to visit the zoo the beach or world famous La Rochelle, but also like to explore 'real France' too then we are perfectly located for visiting this whole area. You can get to La Rochelle, Rochefort and Royan and all the beaches all within one hours easy drive.
Whats included in the price quoted ?
The price shown includes the rental of the gite; all utilties (cooking gas, electricity, water, both hot and cold); local tourist taxes.
On arrival there will be a full toilet roll, some washing up liquid, bin liners in all bins, a dish cloth and brush, some cleaning materials.
All services which we charge extra for are detailed on our
extra services page
Who do I contact if theres something wrong ?
We live at La Grange du Moulin. We clean all the cottages ourselves and check that everything is in working order before you arrive. We maintain all the grounds and swimming pool on a daily basis and can be called on at anytime if something goes wrong. We greet you on your arrival and show you around the property. We are there to help you and advise you on the best places to visit and chat, if you want us to, however we are definately not obtrusive .
Where are the nearest shops, bars and restaurants ?
St Jean d'Angely, 6 miles or 10 mins drive. We really are in the countryside. The hamlet has no facilities and there are no bars or restaurants in walking distance. All major facilities, several big supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants are within an easy short drive, but our property attracts young families who are after a peaceful, family orientated holiday. We offer a babysitting service so you can take advantage of a night out without the children, but many evenings will be spent chatting to fellow guests over the bbq or simply watching the sun go down and the stars come out with a glass of wine overlooking the open fields of wheat.
