COMMENTS 2006 of our Family Friendly gites
near St Jean d'Angely
Personally just the right setting - rolling countryside and beautiful surroundings. Pool a
great bonus for us as our children were just happy all day in the pool. I am not
personally a keen cyclist but I really loved going off on a bike round here and exploring-
no traffic,
woods to cycle through and a very unique experience for me. I took the two
older boys off for a ride and it was an experience for them too. I found the very simple
things the most pleasing, the lovely boulangerie in st Julien, having a beer or coffee in a
brasserie in Aulnay...PEARCE-LLOYD Family, RUCHE, Aug/Sept 2006
We have really enjoyed our stay at La Grange du moulin. We have never stayed in a
group of cottages before and it has been
great for the children to have other children to
play with and for us to be able to socialise too ! Chris and wendy really make that extra
effort to
ensure you feel welcome and they have always been on hand to answer
queries, suggest days out, give directions etc. All guests are treated more like friends -
we went along to a grand mechoui (goat roast) at a nearby village with Chris and Wendy
and some other guests which was really good fun - an example of how Chris and
Wendy go that extra mile to make people feel welcome and ensure guests have a good
time. We found the wine tasting a pleasant evening and very informative. We went to the
group bbq both weeks and these were great opportunities to socialise with other guests.
The
cottage was clean and very comfortable. The boys have made full use of the garden
/ toys and pools. The small has been especially good for the boys. Large pool felt rather
cool when the weather dropped below 35 c !
One suggestion - we would of liked the garden to of been fenced from the road. (note
from us - it will be for 2007) All in all we had a great holiday and would definately
recommend La Grange du Moulin to friends and family.

Communal bbq, excellent idea and excellent family environment. Table tennis, well used ! Bikes, great for
exploring. Weather forecast a good idea, even if the sun didn't always shine ! Chris and Wendys advice and
information about the area, very very useful.
FULCHER Family, PECHE, Aug 2006
The wine tasting - informative and relaxed; The bbq, fun and friendly, a great ice breaker; vine walk, a nice
sunday stroll. The hands on, on call availability of yourselves was reassuring.
Relaxed, laid back atmosphere.
The pool was perfect, a welcome relief from the baking summer heat. The adults enjoyed the large pool, whilst
the small pool was
ideal for kids. Our cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The tourist info about local
restaurants etc was very helpful. Beds comfortable. The little extras eg childrens buggies, games, toys and
library were an unexpected bonus. The layout of the cottage with its front and back patio meant you could
enjoy the company of other guests and have your own privacy. The sandpit, slide and swings was great for
the kids and gave us some time away from our toddlers. Improvement would be a fence on the lane for peace
of mind. (note - there will be for  2007)
SINCLAIR Family, GRENIER, July 2006 (children aged 5yrs, 3yrs and 18mths)
Chris and Wendy, Thanks for a lovely (and eventful !) week. The effort that you put in
through your hospitality (wine tasting, tour etc) made a big difference and more
rewarding than simply renting a stand alone house. The bbq was particularly enjoyable
and the best way to meet fellow visitors. The facilities were all
well maintained and we
appreciated the lack of stringent rules and that common sense seems to be the guiding
force. HANN Family, PAPILLON, July 2006 (children aged 4 and 2)
Fantastic, definately the best holiday we've had since having Christopher, we've all enjoyed every minute -
thank you so much.
CHURCHER Family, PAPILLON, June 2006 (Christopher aged 3)
Cottage was perfect for a family of four and can sleep up to 6 comfortably, lovely and cool in the evenings.
Chris and Wendy helpful in a non intrusive way.
O'REILLY Family, PAPILLON, June 2006 (children aged 3 and 1)
We've had a very relaxing time, the laying around the pool enforced by the heat meant we had to relax. We
enjoyed the atmosphere and then quietness of the location(well before all the kids got going, which has been
lovely in its own way) Imogen has had a
fantastic time playing with all the other children, which has given us
a holiday too ! We loved the wine tasting and the communal bbq's in particular. Thanks for everything, we've
had a great time.
TARVER Family, HORLOGE, July 2006 (Imogen age 5)
We have had a truely wonderful holiday and none of us are quite ready to leave just yet ! The whole
atmosphere around the gites is laid back and friendly with all the families helping each other, especailly with
tourist advice. Chris and Wendy - you couldn't have been any more accomodating or helpful. We loved the
communal bbq evenings. The
wine tasting evening was brilliant and of course we are now experts who can
spot a wine with legs at 10 paces !! Jordan and Poppy have made many new friends and I am sure this holiday
is a memory that will linger with them for many years... as it will with us grown ups. Thanks for everything,
We'll be back !! PARFITT and HARDY Families, RUCHE, Aug 2006 (Jordan 12 and Poppy 2)
