| GUEST COMMENTS 2004 on our Family Friendly gites near St Jean d'Angely |
| A big thank you to Chris and Wendy for making a week at Fleurie so enjoyable. They were excellent hosts - very helpful and informative and so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, from recommendations for restaurants to providing new childrens videos half way through our stay ! Malcolm, a real wine fan thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting evening and a trip to Erics vines one afternoon. Everyone staying has been really friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere here - all the children have played brilliantly together. HITCHING FAMILY August 2004, Fleurie. |
| Very impressed by the standard of the gite and the pool. You have created a friendly atmosphere and are very helpful. Good community social life, others were prepared to join in and talk and drink into the night. The children have been safe and enjoyed themselves with all the other children, which meant we enjoyed ourselves and relaxed. Wine tasting was an interesting and enjoyable evening, Chris' passion came over clearly which really made the evening. For people with children we would recommend you. Thanks for a great holiday. | The web site was so informative that we had no surprises when we arrived. The cottage was clean and tidy and the other guests helpful and informative. The wine tasting was a great experience allowing us to be just a little better informed about wine in general. The pool was great, really nice and relaxing when it was sunny. Overall the holiday has been relaxing and really very pleasant. It is certainly a place we would consider returning to in future years. HALL-KING FAMILY, August 2004, Horloge |
| Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 week stay. Second year even better than first. Accomodation and facilities, well appointed, Clearly Chris and Wendy add and therefore improve the overall facilities each year. If you think you've forgotten something important - don't worry, its probably already here or they'll do everything they can to get it for you. Wine walk - thanks to Chris for a very enjoyable 4hrs. You don't have to be a wine buff to learn something. This is an ideal setting to relax, make friends and have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday - year 3 under consideration !! | Loved it ! Very lazy, easy to do not a lot. Gary really enjoyed the wine walk and tasting. Kids would of liked a heated pool but then we would never of got them off the site !! Really liked the way the place is so clean and well cared for and having Chris and Wendy about (and not just for babysitting though it was a God send and one of the reasons we chose here) WINTERBURN FAMILY, August 2004, Papillon. |
| Tres Bon, really relaxing, very sociable and good accomodation. Enjoyed the wine tasting and the enthusiasm Chris has for wines. Also a great place to bring children of all ages. Very relaxing and loads to do if we could be bothered to move from the pool !! An excellent holiday for the whole family. ALLEN FAMILY, August 2004, Ruche. |
| We enjoyed our holiday very much. We met good friends and the children had a wale of a time. Much exchanging of email addresses etc ! Safe for the children which allows us to relax. This is our second visit, as ever Chris and Wendy, excellent hosts. Great to sit back and relax and enjoy the ambience. REES FAMILY, August 2004, Horloge. |
| We've all had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The kids have made lots of friends and not really wanted to go out anywhere ! The adults enjoyed the BBQ and the wine tasting which was really well done. Accomodation clean and comfortable. Pool great. Kids have had lots of freedom and numerous bike rides to various bus stops !! We've enjoyed sitting out looking over the wheat field and the weathers been superb. Chris and Wendy are always available to help sort out any problems and offer advice when needed. SANGSTER and TAYLOR FAMILY, July 2004, Peche. |
| This has been one of our most enjoyable holidays for many years. As we don't speak much french it was useful to have you and the other guests who are english. The wine walk and tasting were very good as was the communal bbq, a good chance to get to meet your neighbours. There were more girls on the second week so the boys felt a little more left out - but still had good fun with mum and dad. You have been great hosts and we'll be back next year - if you'll have us ! Thanks. SMALLEY FAMILY, July 2004, Ruche. |
| Really enjoyed our fortnight. As we are used to beach holidays it made a change to be further inland and see some of rural France. It was nice to have a pool which we havn't had before. It was particularly good to have other English families for the children to make friends with and some adult company for us. The gite complex as a whole and pool area are lovely. We did find our cottage a little dark, but as the weather was so good it didn't matter because we were outside most of the time. If the journey to the beach was a little shorter it would be perfect. GUBBINS FAMILY, July 2004, Papillon. (papillon is a dark cottage, others are a lot lighter) |
| We have had a very enjoyable holiday. The people around us were all friendly and the kids made lots of friends. The high points would be the lovely pool, the peace and quiet, big skies ripe for stargazing, evenings on the terrace enjoying the local viticultural produce while the kids run barefoot through the grass sharing ghost stories.
