about our Child Friendly Gites
near St Jean d'Angely
This was our first holiday with our new family, with our girls aged 2.5 and 3 mths.
Everything has been thought of to make our holiday as relaxed as possible with such
young children.
All equipment has been provided, right down to monitors and baby bath
seat. The best things were the outside lawn area, right infront of the gites where Emily
could run out first thing in the morning and play on the swings, and meet the other
children. It was
so close and safe that we didn't feel we needed to stand over her while
she played. Best of all was the heated toddler pool, as
warm as a bath which kept Emily
and Daddy occupied almost all day. We stayed in Grenier which we really liked. Its
tucked in the corner which meant if we wanted a quiet evening meal outside we could.
The gate wasn't a problem, its rarely used and always closed immediately if it is. We
loved the
community spirit. The lawn was where everyone met and chatted while the
children played. Emily was in and out of the other gites, as were other children in ours
and no one minds. The bbq was a great evening to
get to know everyone and all the
children loved Wendys Teddy Bears Picnic. The area is so pretty. I don't think the web
site can ever do it justice. We loved
Chris' wine tasting evening, in its beautiful setting on
the terrace overlooking the sunset, tasting wine and listening to Chris - idyllic. I can
honestly say that this holiday was everything I had hoped for as a first family holiday with
our toddler and new baby. Chris and wendy are perfect hosts and had
thought of
everything
to make it as relaxed as possible . the children loved it and we loved it. I will
be telling my friends but no one else, we don't want it to be fully booked when we try to
come back !''
'' Its seldom that you can say that a holiday equally caters for children and parents too. La
Grange du Moulin really does. Not only is the gite environment set up with child care,
safety and security as a priority but there is an ambience of a warm community that has
been established by Chris and wendy that makes you feel
instantly welcome. Their
personal touches continue through the holiday with vine walks, sea food evenings,
barbecues and on hand advice about the local shops, restaurants and environment showing
that Chris and Wendy are committed to providing a
really relaxing and fun experience for
the whole family. Our friends recommended Grange du Moulin saying that they were
returning for a second visit and we can see why. At the end of our two weeks. our son
had made many new friends, including Thomas and Benjamin and he was exhausted from
so much good play. We on the other hand were, for the first time after a family holiday,
rested, relaxed and leaving behind books that we had actually managed to finish ! We
could not have bettered our holiday, thank you from all three of us !''
''Great child friendly facilities both inside and out. Loads of toys, nice play area, fantastic baby pool at 30c, but
all this still put to shame by the superb hospitality, friendly, honest advice in a
very relaxed environment. Both
Chris and wendy always happy to stop for a chat from local details, to wines and world affairs. They also seem
to attract
like minded, friendly, easy going guests as everyone was very friendly, happy to help out and
everyone mixing in with the child care whether they were yours or not ! Very peaceful setting in beautiful
countryside but plenty of things to do/places to see within a reasonable drive.
All our needs were fully catered
for, especially like the provision of steriliser, monitors etc to cut down on luggage and these sorts of items
rarely seem to be provided at other establishments''.
Totally child friendly from the cottages to the grounds. Children loved the freedom of being able to run
outside to play with the other children. made for a relaxing grown ups holiday. my children loved the small
pool.
Thank you Wendy and Chris. This was a wonderful holiday - the first one we've had with the kids that felt like
a real break with all the other children to play with and the peace of mind of being able to let the children run
around in a
safe place with things to keep them amused for hours. The wine tasting evening, bbq and teddy
bears picnic were great and really enjoyed socialising with the other guests.
Fantastic place for families with young children (especially under 5's) Our 2.5 yr old enjoyed more than when
we came last year. We'll be back next year. Idyllic and peaceful. Very sociable arrangement of cottages. Wendy
and Chris are very hospitable, helpful & friendly.
Very child friendly gite. Excellent and safe area for kids to play. Very laid back atmosphere and very
knowledgable hosts - nothing is too much of a problem and excellent advice given. Gites are also very
child
friendly and safe.
We liked the fact the children could roam around and play with other children. Everything was very well
thought of to make the holiday
child friendly and therefore as relaxing as possible for the adults. Chris and
Wendy were onsite and this made it easy when we had questions. The
information provided was excellent eg
nearest supermarket, things parents don't often have time to research. We liked the bbq evening and getting to
know other parents whilst the children played.
Gite great, kitchen &equipment very clean which is often not in holiday lets; description just as per internet -
not fancy but great for kids.
Garden was great and layout encourages sociability, really enjoyed bbq and teddy
bears picnic, great fun and nicely low key. You were both incredibly
friendly and approachable and on hand
with great suggestions about what to do and drink ! What makes it different is the two of you, the atmosphere
you encourage and
the small touches like a personalised itinary based on weather and a few toys in the gite,
we've had such a lovely time !

Great, safe, communal play area especially for under 5's; rustic cottages in rural setting; communal bbq and
vine walk, really enjoyed both; good area to explore with kids - sun or rain; St Jean is a great authentic historic
local town.
Our first gite holiday, so not sure what to expect. Liked the dishwasher and washing machines; very friendly
owners with lots of info, thanks for the moules recipe; good set up here with
small amount of gites and ours
overlooking the play area was definately an advantage; loads to do in the area, including wet weather options.
